Mr Burt was played by William Hootkins in the film adaptation of The Adventure of the Cheap Flat in Series 2 of ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot. There he was more appropriately an agent of the F.B.I. His quarry had been renamed Carla Romero in the adaptation. Burt believed Carla would try to sell the stolen plans to the Italian government and had Japp and many of his men stake out the Italian embassy.
