In the authorised continuation short story Miss Marple's Christmas, Miss Marple mentions Mr Blair, a "clever young solicitor" from Much Benham as a parallel. He had his motorcycle stolen three times in two years. The third time, the insurance company refused to pay. This turned out to be just as well as it transpired that the motorcycle had been "borrowed" by a friend who had parked it in the wrong garage. If the claim had gone through and the motorcycle was then found, Mr Blair might have been in a difficult situation.
