In the short story The Lemesurier Inheritance, Miss Saunders is the governess of Ronald and Gerald Lemesurier.

Poirot and Hastings met Miss Saunders when they visited the Lemesurier family home as guests of Mrs Sadie Lemesurier who was particularly worried about the family curse and the safety of her sons. On a day when Mrs Lemesurier and her sons were invited over to a the house of Lady Claygate, a neighbour. Poirot and Hastings declined the invitation and remained at home. While they were having tea with Miss Saunders, she casually mentioned that she hoped the boys would not go too near the bees (Mrs Claygate had a beekeeping hobby). This fact seemed to upset Poirot a great deal.
