In the novel One, Two, Buckle My Shoe, Miss Kirby is a lady from Worthing who is a patient of the dental practice at 58 Queen Charlotte Street. She had an appointment at twelve-thirty with Mr Morley. She became extremely irritated when, at one o'clock, Mr Morley had still not rang his buzzer to indicate that he was ready for her. At ten minutes part one, the pageboy Alfred Biggs went up and knocked. There was no answer and Biggs dared not enter or open the door without being invited. Miss Kirby decided not to wait any longer and walked off. Later, Biggs went into Morley's clinic and discovered that he was dead, having been shot.

Portrayals[]

In ITV's 1992 adaptation of the novel, the name of the character is changed to "Mrs Pinner". She still comes from Worthing and is portrayed by Dawn Keeler.
