In the novel Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, Messrs Gordon & Porter of Praed Street are a firm of property agents in London. Frankie Derwent went to see them to get information about Mr Cayman as the firm was handling the letting or sale of 17 St. Leonard's Gardens, a house in Paddington which was the last known address of the Caymans. Frankie did not get much information from the firm as they were handling the property on behalf of the actual owner. Mr Cayman had only taken the house on a quarterly rent and had since gone overseas.
