Mary Blackwell is a character created for the ITV 2006 adaptation of the The Moving Finger. Mary does not appear in person. She is mentioned by Mona Symmington during a dinner party. While exchanging village gossip, Mrs Symmington told her guests that she had heard that Mary's husband Jamie Blackwell planned to leave her as he had received an anonymous letter alleging that the child she was expecting was not fathered by him but by Colonel Appleton.
