In the short story The Case of the Missing Lady, Maldon is a village in Surrey. In the course of their investigations into the case, Tommy and Tuppence decided to follow up on a telegram their client had received which had been sent from Maldon. They went first to Maldon, Surrey but found nothing useful or significant there. It was only later that Tuppence realised that there was a reason the county is listed after the village name on the telegram--there must be more than one Maldon. Upon checking they found another village named Maldon, Sussex, this time in Sussex.
