In the novel Peril at End House, The Majestic Hotel is a hotel in St. Loo in Cornwall. Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings stay there during the events at End House. The hotel is believed to be based on The Imperial Hotel, an actual hotel which Agatha Christie knew well, although that is located in Torquay in Devon.

Agatha Christie's Poirot[]

In ITV's 1990 film adaptation of the novel, The Salcombe, a building of serviced apartments, and formerly the Salcombe Hotel, in Salcombe, South Devon was used for the exteriors of the hotel.[1] The Imperial was not used, presumbably because the ornate Victorian exterior had been replaced by a more functional concrete block design in 1965. The Salcombe, on the other hand, had an Art Deco design appropriate to the TV series.
