In the novel Cat Among the Pigeons, Mademoiselle Blanche is the sister of Angèle Blanche. When Angèle died, her sister took her identity to work at Meadowbank School for Girls. When she found out that the murderer is Ann Shapland, she started blackmailing her until Ann bludgeoned her to death with a sandbag.
