In the short story Greenshaw's Folly, Mrs Louisa Oxley is the niece of Joan West. Her marriage had come "unstuck" leaving her with two children and short of money. When Raymond West mentioned that he had encountered Katherine Greenshaw and she had said that she would like to get her father's diaries published, Joan suggested that Raymond could get a job for Louisa doing that. Raymond wrote to Miss Greenshaw and was somewhat surprised what Miss Greenshaw, normally quite miserly, replied offering generous terms for Louisa. Louisa found the job just right for her needs and was thus placed at Greenshaw's Folly during the crucial events in the plot.
