In the novel Towards Zero, Lord Mounthead was a former employer of Mr and Mrs Rogers. Mr Rogers had been the butler and Mrs Rogers had worked as cook in his London residence, until they married. Lord Mounthead had the reputation of throwing the best dinners in London. For this reason, the barrister Rufus Lord K. C. highly recommended the Balmoral Court hotel to his friend Mr Treves because Mr and Mrs Rogers took to running the hotel after leaving Lord Mounthead's service.
Lord Mounthead is only mentioned in the novel, he is never seen.
