In the novel Five Little Pigs, Lord Edward Dittisham is Elsa Greer's husband. He was described as a "man just under forty. His forehead was rather prominent, his chin was eager, and his eyes and his mouth unexpectedly beautiful".

He is a poet. Two of his dramas had been staged and had received a huge success.

When Poirot arrived at the house in Brook Street to interview Elsa, Lord Dittisham received him first. Poirot asked if he objected to his wife being interviewed. Lord Dittisham said that the objections of husbands were never taken seriously these days, but that he did not object. He was only fearful of the effect it might have on his wife.
