Les Meurtres ABC (Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie)

Les Meurtres ABC is the 1st episode of series 1 of the French TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie.

Synopsis[]

Like other episode in the rest of the first series, the investigators are Larosière and his assistant Lampion, which are in some way parallels of Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings.
André Custe is a salesman and parallels Alexander Bonaparte Cust. He stays at Mme Daste's, who has a daughter, Lili, who functions as the parallel of Lily Marbury.
The murder of the Aline Bellec, the Betty Barnard parallel, is the first one instead of the second in this adaptation. Yolande Bellec is Aline's sister, a teacher, and parallels Megan Barnard. She works with Yann Lebras who is the parallel of Donald Fraser. This murder is depicted very faithfully: the victim is strangled in a seaside town, the body is discovered by a civilian walking his dog. However there ar two differences - Yolande, the Barnard parallel, is arrested because the letter from A.B.C. was not presented. In this occasion, Lampion thought that the letter was a joke and threw it away.
As a result, the second murder is of another person named Baptiste who has no parallel in the original story.
