Les Meurtres ABC is the 1st episode of series 1 of the French TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie.
Synopsis[]
Plot Summary[]
Comparison with the original story[]
- Like other episode in the rest of the first series, the investigators are Larosière and his assistant Lampion, which are in some way parallels of Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings.
- André Custe is a salesman and parallels Alexander Bonaparte Cust. He stays at Mme Daste's, who has a daughter, Lili, who functions as the parallel of Lily Marbury.
- The murder of the Aline Bellec, the Betty Barnard parallel, is the first one instead of the second in this adaptation. Yolande Bellec is Aline's sister, a teacher, and parallels Megan Barnard. She works with Yann Lebras who is the parallel of Donald Fraser. This murder is depicted very faithfully: the victim is strangled in a seaside town, the body is discovered by a civilian walking his dog. However there ar two differences - Yolande, the Barnard parallel, is arrested because the letter from A.B.C. was not presented. In this occasion, Lampion thought that the letter was a joke and threw it away.
- As a result, the second murder is of another person named Baptiste who has no parallel in the original story.
