Le crime ne paie pas is the 7th episode of series 2 of the French TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie. It was produced by Escazal Films and France Télevisions. It is an adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel The Murder on the Links.
Synopsis[]
Plot Summary[]
Comparison with the original story[]
- Just like most of the Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie episodes, the setting is changed. The crime occurs in a cabaret where a waitress was previously killed. This does not occur in the original story, and the character of the waitress doesn't appear in the novel.
- The main characters' parallels are mostly faithful to the original ones. However, the body of Paul Deboise is found after the body of the clochard. In the original novel, the first death was the clochard's, which is also kept loosely; in The Murder on the Links, he dies of natural causes whereas the adaptation makes the character be strangled by Paul.
