In the novel A Murder is Announced, Laura Easterbrook is the wife of Colonel Easterbrook. They live in Chipping Cleghorn.

She is described as having a "synthetic blonde head", and blue eyes. She is at least thirty years younger than her husband. According to the police she has hoodwinked a man (possibly her husband or someone named Tanqueray).

In the BBC 1985 adaptation of the novel which formed part of the Miss Marple series, Laura Easterbrook is played by Sylvia Syms. Like in the novel, she is significantly younger than her husband.

In the ITV 2005 adaptation of the novel, Colonel Archie Easterbrook is unmarried. His wife divorced him because of his drinking. In this adaptation, Laura Easterbrook is his daughter, and he has not seen her for ten years.
