In the novel The Moving Finger, Lasher is a farmer near Lymstock. Megan Hunter falls off her bicycle after braking too hard and decides to walk with Jerry Burton the rest of the way into the village. She tells Jerry that she has just been to Lasher's to see if they had any duck eggs. Megan also says that Lasher has a nice lot of little pigs which she likes.
