In the short story a The Lemesurier Inheritance, Lady Claygate is a neighbour of the Lemesurier family. She has a beekeeping hobby and keeps three hives of bees in her garden and is apparently quite proud of them.
These bees and the fact that Mrs Lemesurier had gone over to Lady Claygates house with her two boys seemed to worry Poirot a great deal, and his worry is even greater when he hears, when the party returns, that one of the boys Ronald Jr. had been stung by a bee.
