In Murder Party, the French Télévisions film adaptation of Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced, for the Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie TV series, Kurt Wengen is the parallel of the character Rudi Scherz in the original novel. His role in the adaptation is quite faithful to the original. Here he is a waiter at the Sanglier Inn (presumably in Lille). At some time in the past, he had been a waiter at the Edelweiss Hotel in Switzerland. The forensic pathologist Euphrasie Maillol discovered that Kurt was left-handed and so couldn't have shot himself on the left side.
Kurt was a friend of Josette Bianconi who works at "La Voix du Nord", the newspaper where Alice Avril is a reporter.
The character of Kurt Wengen was played by Félicien Graugnard.
