In the novel A Murder is Announced, Jessie Spragge is the girl working in the draper's in St. Mary Mead. Miss Marple mentions her in relation to Fred Tyler being a village parallel of Rudi Scherz. Fred Tyler would pilfer money and take Jessie to the pictures. In this respect Jessie becomes a parallel of Myrna Harris.
