In the novel The Body in the Library, Jessie Golden is mentioned by Miss Marple. Jessie is the daughter of the baker in St. Mary Mead, Mr Golden.

Jessie was an ambitious young woman with a good temper. She trained as a nursery governess and got a job in a family. When one of the older sons in the family was home on leave from India, they fell for each other and married. She made him a very good wife. Miss Marple likened Josie Turner with her.
