In the radio play Personal Call, James Brent is the husband of Pam. At the beginning of the play, he receives a long distance phone call from Newton Abbot from a mysterious woman called herself Fay. She wants to meet him at the station at 7.15. This call visibly upsets him. The next day he gets another such call. This time, Pam, curious about what has upset him, eavesdrops. She is equally puzzled and confronts him. He tells her "Fay" is the name he used to call his late first wife who died a year ago. However he dismisses the whole sequence of events and wants to concentrate on their forthcoming holiday in France.
