In the novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Inspector Raglan is a Police Inspector from the nearby larger town of Cranchester. He was the chief investigating officer in the initially baffling murder of Roger Ackroyd. He believes the murderer is Roger's stepson, but later he changes his mind and accuses Charles Kent as the culprit.
Role in the novel[]
Raglan doesn’t manage to arrest the murderer of Roger, since Hercule Poirot exposed the latter. The killer followed Poirot’s advice and took his own life after writing a manuscript about the crime.
Portrayals[]
In Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Inspector Raglan does not appear. His role is largely taken by Inspector Davis.
