In Daijoyuu Satsujin Jiken, the 2018 TV Asahi Japanese adaptation of The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side, Inden Toshiro (院殿寿郎 - Toshiro Inden in Western format) is the butler at Kaminoyakata, the house of Iridori Madoka (Marina Gregg) and Kaido Akira (Jason Rudd). He is the parallel of Giuseppe from the original novel. Inden is seen in the background at the dinner party.
For a while the police considered Inden a plausible suspect in the poisoning of Kannokoji Rin (Heather Badcock) especially after Akada Shimeko (Ella Zielinsky) is murdered and Inden goes off to visit his parents in Osaka. He could have received one of Shimeko's phone calls and fearing he might be exposed, killed her to keep her quiet. However a detective (there are many in this adaptation) checks this and discovers that Inden had deposited 5 million yen into a bank near his parents' place. The police surmise that this is blackmail money paid because he knows who the real killer is. 5 million yen seems a small sum for silence money in a murder so the police expect he will be back for more however, like Giuseppe, he is killed shortly therefter.
Unlike Giuseppe, there is no Gladys Dixon parallel to tell him what she saw. In this adaptation Inden stumbles on the truth because he found a scrap of newspaper which had words cut out of it. Iridori Madoka had cut words out of this newspaper to create her fake warning notes. Inden must have surmised what Madoka had done.
