In Le cheval pâle, the French Télévisions film adaptation of Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse, for the Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie TV series, Hyppolite is a servant and care-giver of the paralysed Eugène Dacosta (the parallel of Mr Venables in the original story). Dacosta regards him also as his best friend. Hyppolite is portrayed by Jacques-Anthony Vienne. There is no parallel in the original story. Venables had a butler but he is not named.
