How I Became a Writer is an article written by Agatha Christie. It was first published in The Listener magazine in August, 1938. According to J.C. Bernthal, the content of this article is similar to an introduction to Appointment with Death (see Hercule Poirot: Fiction's Greatest Detective) which Christie wrote around the same time. Bernthal notes that the Listener article was probably written to promote the movie Love from a Stranger.[1]
