In the short story Swan Song, Hensdale is young American tenor who is who is scheduled to sing with Paula Nazorkoff as "Cavaradossi" during a performance of Tosca at Covent Garden. Later he also joins Nazorkoff in a private performance of the same opera at Rustonbury Castle. Nazorkoff thinks of Hensdale as "a nice little boy" who "sings prettily".
