In Charles Osborne's novelisation of Christie's stage play "Black Coffee", Helen Amory (née Graham) is the deceased wife of Sir Claud Amory and mother of Richard Amory. According to the entry in Who's Who which Poirot looks up, she died in 1929, a few years before the events in the story. In Christie's original stage play Black Coffee, Sir Claud undoubtedly had a deceased wife who was the mother of Richard but her name is not mentioned.
