In the authorised Miss Marple continuation short story The Murdering Sort, Harry Westover is the son of Alan Westover and the bother of Sarah. According to his cousin Diana, Harry cannot talk to any woman under fifty without flirting so one must not take him seriously. Harry is studying economics at Harvard, in keeping with the family tradition, but he does not think he will last long there. He is more interested in playing his guitar although he does it badly. Harry does stand to gain from the death of his grandfather, the wealthy American tycoon Josiah Westover. However, after Josiah is murdered, Harry is not considered within the first rank of suspects mainly because of a lack of opportunity,
