Harriet Walter

Dame Harriet Mary Walter DBE (born 24 September 1950) is an English actress. She is noted for her West End and Broadway performances, particularly with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has won an Olivier Award, and been nominated for a Tony, five Emmys, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Her uncle was actor Christopher Lee.

Her screen work includes Sense and Sensibility, Atonement, Law & Order: UK, The Young Victoria, A Royal Affair, Downton Abbey, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Denial, The Crown, The Sense of an Ending, Patrick Melrose, Succession, Rocketman, Killing Eve, Doctor Who, Ted Lasso and The Last Duel. In 1987, she starred as Harriet Vane in a series of BBC serialisations of Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries.
