Agatha Christie Wiki

In the short story The Shadow on the Glass, Greenway's House is the home of Mr and Mrs Unkerton. The house is supposed to be haunted by the ghost of a Cavalier, who was killed by his wife's Roundhead lover.

During a house party, attended by Mr Satterthwaite, Captain Allenson and Mrs Scott were shot.

Name[]

The name of house in the story - Greenway's House - is possibly derived from the name of her future home, Greenway House, on the banks on the River Dart in Devon. Although Christie did not purchase the house until 1938, she had been aware of its existence since childhood.
