In the novel Elephants Can Remember, Great Aunt Alice was a great-aunt of Ariadne Oliver. Ariadne fondly recalled her copy of the book Enquire Within Upon Everything which Great Aunt Alice swore by. Chapter 3 of the book has the title "Great Aunt Alice's Guide to Knowlege". The title is ironic as in the chapter, Ariadne is regretting the absence of Miss Sedgwick, her former secretary and the human equivalent of Great Aunt Alice's book.
