In the short story A Christmas Tragedy, the Grand Spa Hotel is one of the hotels in Keston. Jack Sander's alibi for the time of his wife's death is that he had goe shopping and then went to the Grand Spa Hotel at about 6 o'clock. There he met two friends, Mr Hitchcock and Mr Spender and they played billiards and had whiskey and sodas together. They then walked back to the Keston Spa Hydro together, reaching at about a quarter to seven.
