Grace Wilson was a non-canonical character who was created for the television adaptation of the short story The Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan in Series 5 of ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot. Grace was the wife of Saunders, who was the chauffeur of Ed Opalsen. Some time before the events in the story, Grace had been a barmaid at "The Dog and the Duck" in Holborn. She then took on the job as a chambermaid at the Grand Metropolitan Hotel.
Grace conspired with her husband to rob the Opalsens of a precious pearl necklace when stayed at the Grand Metropolitan Hotel. For the purposes of this plan, her husband had disguised himself as an American tourist named “Worthing” and had taken a hotel room next door to that of the Opalsens. Grace's part of the plan was together with Celestine, the Opalsen's maid who was watching the room where the jewel box was kept. She was to await a chance when Celestine stepped out of the room into her own room and then quickly slip the box to Saunders through an adjoining door. Later she was probably also responsible for planting a jewel box key in Celestine's petticoat to incriminate her.
Grace Wilson was played by Elizabeth Rider. This character does not occur in the the original story. There, the persons who did the robbery were the valet and the chambermaid. Both of whom were not named but they belonged to a ring of jewel thieves wanted by Scotland Yard.
