In the novel A Caribbean Mystery, the Golden Palm Hotel is a hotel on the island of St Honoré, run by Molly and Tim Kendal. They had bought the hotel of a Mr and Mrs Sanderson, who had moved back to England.
As the new owners, the Kendals often had to endure remarks made by regular guests comparing what the hotel was like under the Sandersons and what it had become.
The Sandersons do not appear in the various adaptations of the book but are mentioned. In the 2013 ITV adaptation, however, the hotel used to belong to Molly Kendall's parents and not to the Sandersons.
