Gerald Verner (1897–1980) was a writer of thrillers, writing wrote more than 120 novels translated into over 35 languages.
He adapted the Agatha Christie novel Towards Zero into a play in 1956. This is distinct from an earlier adaptation done by Christie herself in 1945. Verner's version is a drawing room set adaptation with fewer characters and omits important ones like Angus MacWhirter.[1]
