In the novel A Caribbean Mystery, Georgy Wood is remembered by Miss Marple. While Major Palgrave was talking, Miss Marple thought about how there was never anything happening at the Golden Palm Hotel, unlike in St. Mary Mead, where something was always happening and there were many interesting human problems. One of these interesting human problems she remembered was the time Georgy Wood's mother had come down to see him. Miss Marple wondered if the woman was really Georgy's mother.
