In the novel The Secret Adversary, George is a chauffeur employed by Julius Hersheimmer.
When Julius makes Kramenin go with him to Gateshead to retrieve the girls, George drives them there. Julius tells Kramenin that George will not help him escape, as he was a Naval man, who was "on a submarine in Russia when the revoluton broke out", and a brother of his was murdered by Kramenin's people.
