In the novel The A.B.C. Murders, George is a friend of Franz Ascher. Franz claimed that, at the time of the death of Alice Ascher, George and a few other friends were with him, first at the Seven Stars pub and later at the The Red Dog pub. George could therefore give him an alibi.
