In the novel At Bertram's Hotel, General Radley stayed at Bertram's Hotel at the same time as Miss Marple.
After the disappearance of Canon Pennyfather, Miss Gorringe named the General and Miss Marple as two of the people who knew the Canon and might be useful for the police to interview. However, Chief Inspector Davy's interview with the general was totally unsuccessful as the old soldier was almost totally deaf and kept misunderstanding or mishearing the questions. When asked about Pennyfather, the general thought the police wanted to know about his father.
In chapter 5, when Miss Marple was reflecting on how so many people in the hotel seemed unreal, there were a few she thought were indeed "real". One was "that rather handsome old military man in the corner." She had met him once but could not recall his name. This could be a reference to General Radley.
According to the hotel register, Radley's address was 14 The Green, Chichester.
