In the novel Taken at the Flood, Furrowbank is a house near Warmsley Vale built by Gordon Cloade and inhabited by his widow Rosaleen and her brother David Hunter. It is situated on a hill, on the pathway between Warmsley Vale and Warmsley Heath, overlooking the Long Willows farm and the White House. It is described as a very modern, expensive house, its drive winding up through banks of rhododendrons.
