Francoise is a non-canonical character who was created for the 1987 BBC adaptation of 4.50 from Paddington. Francoise is a French ballerina in the Ballet Maritska and a friend of Anna Stravinska. She gave Inspector Duckham Anna's London address. According to Francoise, Anna wanted to move to London to be nearer her husband's family, hoping that she and her estranged husband "would become friends again." Francoise also showed Duckham a photo of Anna, which is the best visual of her we get in the film. The part of Francoise was played by Emma Hitching.
