In Pourquoi pas Martin?, the France Télévisions adaptation of Agatha Christie's Why Didn't They Ask Evans? for the TV series Les Petits Meurtres d'Agatha Christie, Frédéric Delavallée is the parallel of Tommy Bassington-ffrench.  Frédéric is the son of André Delavallée and his wife Suzanne, and the nephew of Roland Delavallée. Frédéric is portrayed by Antoine Angelo.

The parallel between Frédéric and Tommy is remarkably close. Both are about the same age and are especailly close to their mothers. Both suffer bad falls from a swing. In the original novel, Sylvia Bassington-ffrench says Tommy had a run of accidents and almost drowned the previous winter. In this adaptation, Frédéric also seems to have a run of accidents which he attributes to "gremlins". He is actually shown almost drowned in his bathtub. Fortunately, Philippe Sarrazin managed to revive him in time. Later, it is revealed that it is his uncle Roland who tried to drown him (in the original what happened in the drowning is never explained).
