Florence is a character created for BBC's 1987 adaptation of Nemesis. She is a chambermaid at the Golden Boar inn in the town of Abbey Ducis. The members of Miss Marple's coach party stayed there during their Historic Homes and Gardens tour. Florence is portrayed by Jackie Downey.
Miss Marple had earlier asked Lionel to gather as much information as he can from the locals about Verity Hunt and Michael Rafiel. In the course of casual conversation, Florence tells Lionel that she believes that Rafiel House near the town is haunted by the murdered girl, Verity Hunt, as she thinks that Michael Rafiel killed her. Florence also said there was another girl, Nora Brent who disappeared. Florence's aunt Rene told her she had seen Nora in Blackpool but Florence disagrees. Her aunt is "blind as a mole". Florence believes that Nora was also killed by Michael since "the rich can do anything." The townspeople did not want Michael around and in the end he got the message and left.
