In the short story The Fourth Man, Felicie Bault was a French peasant girl from Brittany. At the age of five she was orphaned. Felicie grew up at Miss Slater's orphanage, alongside Annette Ravel and Raoul Letardeau. She was bullied and humiliated by Annette.
At the age of twenty two she developed four different personalities.
As an adult she worked as a maid at the orphanage. After the death of Annette, Felicie somehow managed to strangle herself in her sleep.
