In the short story The Herb of Death, Fairlies is the country estate of Jerry Lorimer. Farlies is adjoining Clodderham Court, the estate of Ambrose Bercy. Among the key characters in the story, Lorrimer is the only one who does not reside at Clodderham Court but he did cross over for dinner on the fateful night and suffered food poisoning just like the others.
