Eric Johnson is a non-canonical character created for the Agatha Christie's Marple adaptation By the Pricking of My Thumbs. He and his wife Betty manage the village post office and shop in the village of Farrell St Edmund where most of the action in the later part of the story takes place.
Miss Marple and Tuppence are at first interested in the Johnsons because Miss Packard had mentioned that it was one "Mrs Johnson" who came to take Mrs Lancaster away from Sunny Ridge. However the Johnsons claim not to know any Mrs Lancaster.
Later, Tommy finds out from Mr Eccles that he has been fronting the management of Mrs Lancaster at Sunny Ridge on behalf of a mystery client "Johnson". Eccles does not even know the full name of his client and merely states that he has to direct all correspondence to one "Commandant Beaurepaire" care of the village post office at Farrell St Edmund. Based on this, Tommy comes to the village to arrest the Johnsons. The Johnsons admit that correspondence for Commandant Beaurepaire is received at their post office but insist on maintaining the confidentiality of the client who collects the mail. The major breakthrough comes when Ethan Maxwell, the local village constable notes that Commandant Beaurepaire is actually the name of a rose, a red and white rose also know as York and Lancaster. Miss Marple then realises that "Lancaster" and "York" are codenames for the lady that is moved from nursing home to nursing home by someone calling herself Mrs Johnson.
The Johnsons are are also involved in a sideplot concerning their daughter Nora Johnson. Sir Philip Starke dotes on the young children in the village and his current protege is Nora. He has pulled strings to get Nora a role in a film about Jane Eyre and the entire village is being invited to a premiere of the film at his residence. Sir Philip also provides for Nora financially. This financial assistance has made the Johnsons fairly well-off and they have refurbished and upgraded their shop, renaming it "The Johnson Emporium".
Eric Johnson is portrayed by Brian Conley.
