In the novel Sparkling Cyanide, Elvaston Square is a garden square in London. It is the location of the townhouse of George and Rosemary Barton. Iris Marle lived there with her sister and brother-in-law. After Rosemary's death, George was concerned for Iris and didn't want her to have to move out, so he invited Lucilla Drake to move in and act as chaperone for Iris. It was in the attics of the townhouse, among large numbers of trunks and crates that Iris found, stuffed in an old dressing gown, Rosemary's "leopard" letter, alluding to an affair she was having with someone.
