Egypt is a country on the northeast corner of the African continent. The country has a long and rich history, tracing its heritage back to the 6th–4th millennia BCE.
Egypt and Agatha Christie[]
In 1908, Agatha Christie's nother took her to Egypt for her "coming out" and their stayed at the Gezireh Palace Hotel for three months. After returning to England, Agatha used her experiences to write her first novel, Snow Upon the Desert.
In December 1933, Agatha Christie toured Egypt accompanied by Max and Rosalind. Among other things, they stayed at the Cataract Hotel and cruised on the S.S. Sudan.
In 1942 Max Mallowan was posted in Egypt. He didn’t return to England until 1945.
