In the novel A Murder is Announced, Edward Harmon is the young son of Diana "Bunch" Harmon and her husband Julian. Because of Edward and his sister Susan, "Bunch" doesn't mind staying in their large draughty rambling vicarage despite it not having central heating and other modern conveniences. She envisions Edward having a large play room in which he can lay out a model railway and never having to keep it away.
