Edmund Hove is a non-canonical character created for LWT's 1983 TV adaptation of The Clergyman's Daughter. He and his wife Bella are lodgers at the Red House owned by Monica Deane. In the opening scene, when his wife is terrified by the flickering lights in the dining room, Monica explains that this is probably because Bella is not used to gas lighting--her aunt had gas lighting laid on, which is quite rare for a house in the countryside. Edmund remarks that perhaps her aunt should have waited for electricity. He is quite proud of the fact that his house in Manchester was one of the first to be electrified.

Later, there are loud sounds from Edmund and Bella's bedroom. Going up, they discover that the wardrobe has been knocked over and some of their clothes had been spread out on the bed and cut.

Believing that the house is haunted by poltergeists, Edmund and Bella leave the next day.

Edmund Hove is portrayed by Bill Dean.
